Domaine Isabelle & Denis Pommier

Domaine Isabelle & Denis Pommier

From grape juice to fine wines, Isabelle and Denis Pommier began with little more than two hectares of family land and a dream. Over three decades, they’ve built an estate producing wines that capture the essence of Chablis and were even named best Chardonnay in the world in 2010 and 2012.

Meet the Winemaker

The Pommiers began growing grapes for bulk juice in 1990. Today, their 23 hectares are located throughout the Chablis region and include everything from plots of Petit Chablis to Premier Cru. Their knowledge of the land and trust in nature results in outstanding wines with acidity and minerality.
In the Vineyard & Cellar

Chablis’s unique soil with layers of limestone, soft clay, and ancient marine fossils is the starting point for the Pommiers’ minimally invasive practice. Most of the grapes are hand-picked and each plot is vinified separately. Wines are fermented with indigenous yeasts, some in stainless steel and some in oak barrels of different ages. Aging occurs for 12 to 18 months before bottling.
