Meet the Winemaker
Thiébault Huber grew up in Alsace and honed his winemaking skills with his cousin Jean-Marc Bouley in Volnay. In 1990, he took over his family’s vines. Early on he chose to produce high-quality, healthy grapes over big yields and stopped using synthetic products.
In the Vineyard & Cellar
The estate dates to the 19th century when the Verdereau family began cultivating vines in Volnay. Raoul Verdereau ran the property from 1928 to 1976 and divided it among his heirs. Thiébault uses biodynamic practices and likes walking barefoot through the vineyard to feel more connected to the earth. He vinifies each plot separately to express its unique terroir, and limits using new oak. Filtration depends on the year.
