Domaine de La Luolle

Domaine de La Luolle

Family business
After spending two years sailing the Atlantic with their children, Sandrine and Olivier Dovergne returned to France in 2017 to follow their dream of making wine. Learning from an experienced winemaker, they took over Domaine de la Luolle in the Côte Chalonnaise in South Burgundy where they make organic wines following biodynamic practices.

Organic Europe

Meet the Winemaker

Before becoming winemakers, Olivier was an engineer and Sandrine a teacher. They dove straight into viticulture after returning home from their ocean voyage. Olivier studied Oenology and Viticulture and Sandrine took on marketing the domaine and region.
In the Vineyard & Cellar

The couple grow Chardonnay and Pinot Noir on their 8-hectare vineyard, which is characterized by clay-limestone and silty clay soils in a semi-continental climate. The Dovergnes work to preserve biodiversity on the property through organic and biodynamic practices. They even do all plowing and field work hand. In the cellar, Olivier’s credo is “less is more.”
